Report: Not knowing much about lake, had a fathers day tourney. Tried all reaction we could throw and not a thing, had to go to drop shot in about 15-30 feet and 7 dinks 1 keeper for a 6 hr day. 35+ boats and I think only 27 out of that weighed something. Jigs and senkos for the top weights. Hot day on the water and the lake is letting out a foot a day probably didn't help.
    City: Bakersfield

Tips: run and gun, try up river area

Report: Starting fishing at 7am and ended at 11am Saturday morning, fished main lake points including Winchell Cove, the East Bay and Cattleman's Cove. Landed 12 Spotted Bass up to 15" on droppshotted 41/2" curly tail Roboworms. Color didn't matter, fish all over between 5 and 20 feet. Lots of bites and lost worms. Water is up to the 1st ramp, really has come up a lot in the last few weeks.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Arrived at lake around 5:30pm. I wanted to take my kids fishing but questioned why I was there when I looked at the wind formed waves knocking the boats around on the dock. We all put on Life Jackets and decided that we would try. Motored across the lake to the North shore and tucked into a quiet cove. Over the next couple of hours we caught small (no bigger than 14") spots. Most came on hologram shad 41/2" curly tail Roboworms dropshotted in 2-20 feet of water.
    City: Fresno

Tips: The fish were easy to find but be sure to bring bumpers for your boat if the wind is up, wind + boat wakes = large rollers coming directly into the launch ramp.

    Water Temp: 63- 68

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Only fished the lake for a couple of hours. Got on the lake around 3 p.m. There wasnt too much going on fished with a clear sparkle keeper worm or anything brown and green. later on in the day jerk baits ripped them up. total number of fish was 25 or so with only three keepers.
    City: Fresno

Tips: bigger fish seem to be in the main lake off of submerged humps and structure. keep your eyes open for shad breaking the surface fish are becoming active

Report: Hit the lake about 9am just a layed back day. Started at the first bend up river we worked the river up to the 5 MPH. Jigs in bluegil and brown worked good the best bite was on red/gold robo worms. Drop shot about 6 to 10" off the bottom in 12' to 20' of water. The lake has been up and down I don't think the fish know what to do the beds I found last week were high and dry today. I looks like the water is back up a bit now. Well we boated about 30 fish today but I'm sad to say only about 5 keepers big fish of the day was just over 2lbs. Some on the jigs but most on the drop shot and Texas rigs.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Stay below the water temp break about 1/4 mile inside the 5 MPH there are fish back into the coves in the warmer water there. S L O W is how they like it today. The points are working to. Good luck and look out as the wacko's will be out soon. We even had a jet boat HAMMER down the 35 MPH zone today doing about 80.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Friday hooked about 25 fish rain off and on all morning. Fished again on Sunday we boated 35 fish most in the half to one pound. Had about 12 in the two and a half pound range. Most all came on a dropshot green weeny. about 10 on a shad crank bait. 20 feet or less most along the left side starting at the 5 mile zone up river.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Fish slow and be sure to hit in the deep coves along to edges. I target any thing that is the least bit different. Set your drop shot about 8 to 10 inches deep. Have a blast!!!

Report: The bite is pretty good right now. Had some fish in the willows on flukes and wacky senkos on the main lake. Caught a bunch of fish in the river on the right hand side past the curve on dart heads and drop shot. Threw a blade when the wind kicked up and had 5 bites. Only hooked up on two of those and they were small. Found a large school of fish in Fine Gold in about 20 ft. Dropped shotted some 16" fish out of that school. Best fish of the day was pushing 3 lbs caught up in the river (on the dart head). The wind was brutal. Roughest I have ever seen the main lake. Gave my two boys a wild ride. Saw empty beds on the main lake. Not sure if they have spawned. First time on the lake this year.
    City: Clovis

Tips: Dart head 6" worms in brown colors and drop shot shad colors. Don't forget the reaction baits early and around the trees throughout the day. Nice time of year to take the kids. The drop shot bite is pretty easy and they can get lots of bites. Pretty good quality for Millerton standards. Didn't throw a jig, but I bet it would be a good bet. One of my better fish puked up a large shad (4"). Fish might be a little post spawn. Empy beds and a 3 pounder that was very skinny might mean that the first wave of spawners might be done. You never know.

Report: Started fishing way up river and worked my way out. Bite slow on brown jigs with grub trailers. Got bit on banks in holes in the rocks out of the faster water. Some bites on slow cranks. Browns and craws work best. Had 2 fish early on pink spinners. 1 20in. striper on slow retrive with a shad crank. The water is way down even in the center of the river{thank God I have a steel boat}. Down on the main lake same deal with most bites off the banks 5" to 15" of water.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Fish slow. The bites real slow and very light so watch your line as you will not feel the bite as much as see your line move. Watch out for rocks up river.

Report: Good luck to all the guys and gals on Sat at the Big Valley 100% tourney. MY son- in law and I decided not to fish because this lake is beat up. We found 1 place all day that was holding fish. Very tough bite. 2 on splishot 1 on dropshot 1 on brass-n glass 35ft not what i would call a wide open bite. I know what your thinking! fair weather fisherman,WRONG were doing the travelers this year so we will pick and choose. See you all at McClure in a couple of weeks for sure, love that lake. Bye the way all the fish we caught were 16"+ really was a tough decision not to fish the tourney.

Tips: Keep it slow and keep it wet. Mikes ugly was what they wanted.

Report: Fished a club night tourney. I can't believe how those night fish are so close to shore. I didn't do so well as I lost too many fish, but the winner had over 25 lbs for Sat/Sun, with over 14lbs on sat. Of course he didn't reveal how or where he did it. And a 7 pounder was caught! Now that's amazing for this lake.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Black blades and 10" worms.

Report: Fished Fpt today. Me and partner just scratched out a limit. It was very tough for most. There are fish taking zara spooks in squaw cove first thing in the morning on the left hand side where ever there is a point w/rocks and on the long flats. Caught other fish on rip baits. When boat traffic picks up head up river. There were lots of fish past the 5 mph buoys taking darter head worms 4" curly tail robos in shad and warmouth colors. Drop shots and senkos were working for some also. Fish in river were anywhere from 2 feet to 25 feet. Its really hit and miss. Thursday fish were all over. Today there were hard to find. Good luck
    City: Fresno

Tips: Main lake early. UP river later to avoid boat traffic. Reaction early then finesse later in the day.

Report: Launched at 7:00 am. Fished in the Windy Gap area for the first 20 minutes and the wife caught 4 fish up to 4 pounds. The first two were a 4 and a 3.5 pounder. Next two she caught was 1.8 and 1.5 pounds and all four were caught within 20 minutes of fishing a slit shot red robo worm. She had 4 fish to my zero as I was fishing a drop shot rig with hologram shad color and didn't get a single bite. I started to catch fish by about 9:00 to noon with over 15 fish but all small fish below 1 pound. My biggest fish of the day was 1.6 pounds. My wife got me beat because she also caught another 10 more fish before we left home. Windy Gap area is great and this weekends upcoming tournament will be very competitive as fish are on at this lake. I was out of the water by noon due to rain.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Drop shot or split shot weird colors that you think other anglers wouldn't throw. Red and pink (morning dawn/bubble gum) were great colors for today. Work it slow.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished here at 3:00pm after work. Caught most fish off of dartheading shad color plastics from 4.5 to 6 inches in length. Got off the water by 7:30 pm and landed about 15 fish total and 8 keeper sized fish in the 2 to 3 pound range. All fish were released back into the lake. Most quality fish came from the main lake in squaw cove and windy gap areas.
    City: Fresno

Tips: use a lighter dart head. Fish catches the bait on the drop. Work shad pattern plastics slowly and action will be there.

Report: Went for bass but ended up with about 50 american shad between 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. HA HA. Was alot of fun. Boated one striper 6 lbs, had two over ten pounds get off after 5 minute fight. Caught a few small spots also.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Stripers and shad at the logjam. Stripers on big spoon, shad on darter head with any 3 inch plastic. Bass, hmm dropshotted those.
